HI, EVERYONE! I just wanted to say thanks for all that you are doing, to pray for me and my companion and to fast, because this week we have another baptism and her name is Rachel and she will be baptized this Saturday, yeah we know that it is cutting it close to conference, but we are doing it in the morning, so it's going to be good. Also! The next week, we are going to baptize a family of 7 on the 9th! It is sooo cool to see that we are having a lot success. I think for all the prayers that everyone has done in the past has caught up with us and we have a lot of energies to baptize more!

It has been a hard time to adjust to the missionary schedule, because we have been in the house a lot, but we are going to work harder to find new people and to change the lives of all that we teach! I love the energy that we have in this area, it has given me more hopes to teach everyone and to have a chance to baptize them! The thing that gets more excited always is having a chapel here in Huixtla and we are going to meet this goal if we can visit some people that are about 1 hour from our area, because they have been attending another ward and it's not in their boundaries, so they are about 20 members more to our branch and that will give us about 90 people that will be attending church and we need to maintain that attendance for 3 months and the church is going to build a chapel here finally, but the sad part is that I won't be here to see it..... ; ( At least the members will enjoy it!

The family looks sooo different, like Jamison with his hair bleached! Rachel with braces! Dad's hair is more grey( no offence = P) and the family looks a lot happier. It's because the Lord has blessed us as a family and there are more blessings that are to come. That's so great to hear that Wayne is coming over, it looks like our family is almost complete again! I hope that Dad doesn't feel obligated to serve cookies every Sunday, I think Dad is in a tough position, but I know he can complete with his job! I really love the pictures of the family, although not all of the family was there I hope to see them again soon! Thanks family and friends for your Amistad!

Hello, family and friends! We didn't do much this past week, because we are still hunkered down in the house, but we are going to see what the doctor says, about my companions nose, because the stitches that my companion received, weren't removed and so there is a string hanging out in his nose, it's not noticeable, but he doesn't like when something is not right and he tried to pull it out, but he says that it hurts so much, so we are leaving it in the doctors hands again, I don't know if they are going to cut a little into the nose to take it out or what, but my fear is that, we are going to be in the house for another week.

The mission is the best experience, although there are times of sadness and times of pain, we get over the feelings of what is happening physically and we are taught to be focused spiritually and that's the best part of being on the mission, we learn more, we receive a lot of personal revelation, we learn things through the spirit and that's what helps us remember so many things and to always share the Gospel with others. I have still in practice that small principal, to "forget yourself and go to work", although I still think in the things that I need, I try to think, what my district needs and what the investigators needs also. This work is precious and those that come to the field should come with the mind set of only "work and work and work" then our reward will be waiting for us up in our mansions.

I feel a little off with pretty much not working for about a month and a half, also I have been being blessed for the extra time that I get to read more about the life of Joseph Smith and his wonderful story, how he became the prophet in these days, our mission President came to us this week on Wednesday to have a multi zone conference and with the stories that he knows about polygamy and about Joseph Smith are very interesting and it gets you thinking," Well, it's true that back then the prophets of old really needed to multiply and replenish the earth, because it was a commandment, so it makes sense that the saints in the times of Joseph Smith had to have multiple wives" There is a lot of scriptures that talk about people who did these kinds of things and the other churches accuse us for doing that in the past, also I have heard of other experiences, like when Nephi killed Laban, the investigator said to some other Elders that, "why would someone that is of God kill someone, that doesn't sound like God." It gets me thinking,( I am not sure if I shared this story before, but if not here it goes!) "why would someone say that?" Have they not read the Bible, where it explains how God killed a couple, because all they did was lie to someone and so God killed them, because of their sin that they had committed or other story about an Destroying angel came down from heaven and killed about 10,000 people, because they were sinning. Now we come back to the story of Nephi, when the Holy Ghost or God was telling him kill him, because it is better for one man to die, than a whole nation to dwindle in unbelief. I love the Book of Mormon and I know it is of God and that Joseph Smith had this great work to translate it and he did in about 60 to 70 days. I also testify that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that he restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ again to the earth! I hope everyone that is reading this has their testimony, because we are in the Latter-days and the Lord is coming quickly and we much be ready to fight against the temptations! I love you all soo very much and Hope you can all enjoy your week together!

HELLOS EVERYONE! Other day in Huixtla is a great day, we are loving it here! That is so cool that President Burton helped us! He put the seeds down and we are the ones that get to help it grow and help the people see the Gospel in its fullest and my spirits are lifted up with this time to invite everyone to get baptized! Huixtla is the coolest place that I have had so far, so I give thanks for those President Burton that had to fight against those Catholics, now we have an attendance of about 80 active members and some times we get more! I have kept all the newspapers of the mission, but there are some that I haven't received, but I will try to ask about them. Thanks mother for all your prayers to help our investigators, so they can get a chance to see the truth, it really does change a lot for the missionaries! =)

We still can't leave, because my companion needs to set up another appointment, then check how he is doing. It's pretty much the worst thing to be in the house doing nothing the whole day for weeks, all we do is sleep eat and I try to study my scriptures and my plan is to memorize more scriptures and read more of the Bible, it's very interesting.

That is so great that you are going to leave your job and you can have a job that is a little more comfortable. I don't know too much, but I think you can start in the house and then later on after a while have a lot saved up to rent so that your are not going to risk nothing, but that you can gain more. Only an idea, but yet again I am only a missionary. Lol! It's sounds like a great plan to have a family reunion! It's important to have activities with the family, I feel like what ever activity we do will be fun, because we are together as a great family.

I feel like it is an important responsibility to write every week to share what is going on and other things, I try to take my experiences and put them in every letter. I don't want to get you down, but I write one day in my journal and then I put it away and then later on I remember," OH! My journal!" it's not my intention to ignore the journal, but I am trying better in my last moments in my mission, so I my have my memories to remember those funny times and Spiritual moment. I feel like it was hard to get used to other places, but after awhile it gets easy and all your worries are learning the language and your studies and the people that you meet in the street. I am not going to lie, trying to talk with some random person isn't easy, for other missionaries it's easier, but once you get talking with them you can get past the first barrier( Which is saying"Hello") you can talk easily. I really have went from knowing something about Joseph Smith to knowing about the doctrine that is not taught very often and really the church is about having a testimony about the Savior Jesus Christ and then putting your faith in him and his leaders and don't try using logic to prove that the church is wrong, because to everything that we do, is supported with revelation and the prophets in the old times.

All the members of the church need to do is work and trust in the your leaders and believe that they can help you and also help others that you are teaching. I know that this is the church of Jesus Christ our master, he guides this church and he loves everyone of his children. We shouldn't accept that thought that says, " You don't have a testimony!" I know that I have a testimony and I will never be tricked into believing that I don't have one. Pray for strength and you will receive it when you need it. I love you all so very much!

Here in Huixtla, we have been in the house for about 4 weeks straight and I think finally we are going to have the opportunity to work a the max this week. My companion's nose is still healing and we were hoping to talk with the doctor this past Saturday, but it turns out that the doctor is on vacation or something and won't be back until the next week, so I think that my companion is taking matters into his own hands and he might go out to work, so we can have another baptism this week!! In this week we have another 5 investigators that went to church and they are ready to be baptized, just Alejandra is about 16 years old, but she went to church 2 times and only needs to attend 3 more times to be ready, I feel like we can baptize her and change her life, but that is more of the decision of her parents! We will be praying for her! There are also more people ready, but 2 of these people are moving to another area, so we don't have the privilege to baptize them, but it's okay. This area is full of people ready to be baptized and I am a part of this and its so awesome to see baptisms in this place, because I know that this area will be a place full of faithful members and I can't wait to see the chapel here!

We are planning to reactive a lot of less actives here, so at the end of our time here the church can receive tithings and more priesthood holders, although it is not our work to increase the numbers of the branch or of a ward, we are helping the members have a greater confidence in the missionaries and in their area, I hope at one day the members will be the missionaries and then the missionaries wont, be bugging the members about what needs to happen, the members are very supportive of the missionaries and they help the investigators feel at home.

Oh! Finally me and my companion's story was posted on the mission newspaper, so we are famous in Chiapas! We shared our story about Brother Angel and how he had his conversion to the Mormon Church and the newspaper has our picture with the Brother on the newspaper! My dream came true and now we are going to baptize more to keep everyone excited and to remember the miracles in our mission, I will keep you all informed if we have another miracle!

I have terrible news my camera ran out of battery, so I can't send my pictures, so I will have to ask you all to have patience. TANKS U's

I got to go, but I love you MOM! SSOOOOO MUCH, yeah and you POPs!

Hola. Hey peeps! In this week we couldn't do much, because we were in the house pretty much the whole time! It gets really boring in the house and also when we don't have money to pay for anything. I am not complaining, that I don't have money, but I didn't have money in had and the banks in my area charge about 4 dollars to take out money, so I try not to withdraw money from there.

I love to work in Huixtla, because it is a small community and there are things to do here, but the people here are very focused in their religion and don't want to accept our message, but it's okay we still have time to help them accept the message and the day when the Chapel gets built here it will be a great day for Huixtla and the funny thing,( if I haven't already mentioned it) is that the Chapel will be built right in front of the Catholic church and I believe that the chapel will look a more beautiful than the Catholic church, so I can't wait!

So, what is going on with the family? Whats new? I would love to hear from others! Oh, I think I have a few more pictures of our trip and pictures of Dallin H. Oaks and the group that came with him.
I took that picture at the right time.

The church's property has an avocado tree
This guy was a contact and he knows and likes the "Mormon missonaries" so my companion wanted to know his talent and he showed us!

Hey, family and friends! If you are all wondering what happened with our baptism, we got him wet! I was soo cool to see another person get baptized and to see their smile on their face that they know that they did the right thing! Then on Sunday they confirmed him and then in Priesthood he was given the Aaronic priesthood and then he we were going to end with a prayer and one of the counselors of the Branch president said," Brother Angel, Can you say the last prayer?" and the he got up and started his prayer with something like our dear Heavenly Father Jesus Christ, When I heard this I was like," Oh, NO!" so now we need to teach the right way to pray again.

I feel like Chiapas is so small, because every day I am finding members from the old days and I am finding family of other families in the streets in other wards and it is awesome! The members here are very nice and they want to help the missionaries, they have interesting stories to share with us and they are super funny! I feel like I would love to come back to Chiapas again, but later down the road, it is peaceful and very beautiful, but if you don't like the hot, don't come!

Here in the mission we are getting excited to have more baptisms, the time that I have been here, we have been baptizing pretty much every week and I was thinking we are going to have a break from baptisms, because we don't have any investigators  that we are teaching, but my companion just mentioned that their is another brother that is attending church, every week! He has the attendance and we are going to invite him to be baptized this week I hope if we can see him, I can't remember his name, because it is in German, his family is part German and Hispanic, so we are going to check for another baptism! Out of all the areas that I have been I have never felt this excited, I always said that we are going to have a lot of baptisms, but we never got to do it and now I think the Lord has his children ready to enter into the baptismal covenant!
 Our trip to the waterfalls!

I can tell you all right now that my week was the best week ever!!! First off, we had a baptism, we just baptized a little girl called Anllili and she is still in the primary, but she has a strong spirit about her, she likes going to church and she is a bit nervous, but its a good nervous. We baptized her in a river, one of the doctors of the mission baptized her and then this Sunday she was confirmed! This week we have another baptism. We are going to baptize an ex-Adventist, the story is interesting and cool. The brother Angel was living in Guatalajara, then he came to Chiapas to, be a missionary here, then later to be a Pastor, but somethings happened with his wife and the Church and now he is getting divorced with his wife and he was kicked out of the Church and this got him in a bad attitude and so he fell away from the churchs and then later on he found our church and started comparing the Bible with the words that were spoken in the church and then with the branch President, he asked him a few questions and he asked them all and then the brother Angel, was receiving his answers and he told us that this is the first time of my life that I feel like I am receiving answers and he wanted to get baptized in this moment. There are a lot of miracles here in Huixtla and the goals of the Branch are getting completed and the members that are joining are converts not less actives and thats the most important part.

The, second part my favorite week, is that the Apostle Dallin H. Oaks showed up again, with other general authourities, Like Elder Clayton, Elder Reyes and Elder Walker. It was a very special event to hear from our leaders from these days and to take another picture. Lol. We learned a lot about the importance of our Heavenly Father loves us, then we learned about the real meaning of repantance and that the people that we baptize, have a clear understanding of repentance. It was so special when we first were shaking our hands with the Apostle and then we all sat down and then the President of the mission said, are there any of you that haven't had the chance to shake hands with Elder Oaks and 2 sisters rised their hands and they got to go up and shake his hand and the second sister was crying, I believe that it was because of the special moment to shake hands with an Apostle.

We are still a little sick, my companion can't go out to work, we have to chill in the house until Friday, but we are going to have the chance to leave and find the people that need the Gospel in about a week..! I am not sure if I told you that I am District leader again, but if not I just wanted to mention that, the best part of being the district leader is that I have the chance to talk with other missionaries and for some reason I feel like I have the ability to discern thoughts some times and that is very help for me, because I can help even more my district and I feel like being leader it gives me that power to know what my Elders and Sisters need! This is my small message! I Love you all soooo very much!
